ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) are, in the simplest words, tools supporting the process of acquiring data for databases, especially for data warehouses. The purpose of these tools is to: acquire data from external sources (e.g. SAP, ERP, other transaction systems), transform the data (cleaning, filtering, combining data, transposition of columns and lines, rejecting data) and loading the data to a database (usually a data warehouse).
