Java Solution Architect

Responsibilities:

• Design technical services and plan system integration, selecting the necessary platforms and technologies to meet the customer functional and non-functional requirements and final user needs
• Provide technical leadership and consultancy to the internal development team, ensuring the system infrastructure is fit for purpose, whilst meeting time and budget constraints
• Build and maintain the system technical roadmap, looking ahead for future opportunities or blockers and ensuring decisions by the development team align with the strategy
• Advise product managers on the estimated effort and technical implications of the current user stories, as well as those in the backlog
• Enable the reuse of well-known implantation patterns, tools, and components across the whole government service landscape and enforce design and development guidelines
• Enable a positive technical culture, applying agile methods to development and enforcing adequate quality assurance practices
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support regarding bugs, or other development issues
• Write and update technical documentation
• Optimize the software from performance, security, and quality point of views

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering (computer or telecommunication)
• Minimum 10 years of professional hands-on experience in software development in Object-Oriented programming, specifically on JAVA EE technologies (EJB, JPA, Webservices, WebSockets, RESTful interfaces, etc.)
• Java EE 6 Enterprise Architect Certification or equivalent
• Proven track record in designing and delivering at least 4 complex enterprise-scale Java/JEE solutions
• Experience working in Scrum/Agile and in leading a technical team for agile project delivery, including Test-Driven Development and Continuous Integration
• Hands-on experience in working with Maven, Git, JUnit, Jenkins, and IntelliJ IDEA
• Advanced knowledge of JBoss 7 EAP Application Server, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Apache Web server, PostgreSQL databases and Jackrabbit
• Experience working with microservices (preferable OpenShift), Docker and Kubernetes, and with Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps
• Proficient in UML design with Enterprise Architect; capable of translating business requirements into system requirements and providing complete arcitectural solutions and accurate specifications to the development team
• Personal Security Clearance at EU-CONFIDENTIAL level or above
• Experience in NoSQL databases like e.g. MongoDB
• Experience in Angular or other front-end frameworks
