Java Developer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and deliver system components (back-end), based on the analysis of the customer’s functional and non-functional requirements
• Provide input as part of a dedicated scrum team for the development of features and services
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support regarding bugs, or other development issues
• Maintain parts of the entire code baseline (Database, Model, UI, extensions etc.)
• Write and update technical documentation
• Optimise the software from performance, security, and quality point of views (back-end)
• Administration/configuration and deployment of the Java EE application servers (mainly JBoss, Apache) and software releases

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering (Master/PhD is a plus)
• Minimum 6 years of professional hands-on experience in software development in Object-Oriented programming, specifically on JAVA EE technologies (EJB, JPA, Web Services, WebSockets, RESTful interfaces, etc.)
• Java Certified Programmer’s Certificate (minimum Java 8) or equivalent
• Has actively participated in at least 4 projects as back-end developer
• Advanced knowledge of JBoss 7 EAP Application Server, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Apache Web server, PostgreSQL database and Jackrabbit
• Hands-on experience in working with Maven, Git, JUnit, Jenkins, and IntelliJ IDEA
• Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working with Azure DevOps
• Experience working in Scrum/Agile
• Personal Security Clearance at EU-CONFIDENTIAL level or above - nice to have
• Experience in NoSQL databases like e.g. MongoDB - nice to have
• Experience with HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, or Angular - nice to have
• Experience in Azure Cloud - nice to fave
